On Presidents Day, we do more than recognize a holiday. We reflect on the standard set by the first man to hold the office.
In my recent interview for the NTD television network, I discussed how George Washington got out nstion off to a great start by being America’s leading unifier and conscience. He made the fragile new nation work by choosing collaboration over ego– surrounding himself with strong, often opposing voices but keeping them aligned toward a common purpose—recognizing that humility is not weakness in leadership—it’s a strength.
By willingly stepping away from power after his second term ended, he proved that character must outweigh ambition and unity requires discipline and self-control.
Happy Presidents Day!
