On April 11, 2013, Talmage delivered his “Raising the Bar” lectures at the Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law and Public Policy Lecture Series at the University of Pittsburgh. The videos for each event are now available as follows:
“Each of your three presentations was superb and offered real insights into how the lives of those who have preceded us can contribute to efforts to “raise the bar” in meeting today’s challenges. Without exception your lectures were enthusiastically received.”
Dick Thornburgh
76th U.S. Attorney General
“Indeed, I cannot recall a set of presentations more timely and valuable than yours for students who hope to find purpose in these complex times of risk and uncertainty. Particularly wonderful was the manner in which you wove so many biographical details of the lives of your subjects, such as Abraham Lincoln, into a fabric of lessons for the audience in meeting their own life challenges. Many in attendance received continuing legal education credit and I have learned that they gave you sterling reviews. All the reviewers were positive, but a whopping 85% of them gave you the highest score possible. You delivered a great talk.”
Edward M. Stricker, Ph. D.
Dean, University Honors College,
Distinguished University Professor of Neuroscience,
University of Pittsburgh
“I thought your talk was quite a success. I have heard enthusiastic feedback from several students and faculty members, and I really enjoyed it myself as well.”
William M. Carter, Jr.
Dean and Professor of Law
University of Pittsburgh
“It was wonderful having you with us yesterday. Your contributions through the lectures to our students, faculty, staff and downtown attorneys were enlightening and powerful models themselves of your messages about effective communication.”
Edward McCord
