On Monday, March 28, 2016, Talmage Boston will interview Douglas Brinkley onstage at the International Educator of the Year Luncheon hosted by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, on the subject of Brinkley’s new book (to be released by HarperCollins on March 15, 2016) entitled Rightful Heritage: Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Land of America . Dr. Brinkley is a New York Times best-selling presidential historian, professor of history at Rice University, CNN television network’s Presidential Historian, and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. Click here for event details and registration. This is Talmage’s fourth onstage interview with Dr. Brinkley in the last three years.
Since 2010, Talmage has become one of the best known onstage public interviewers in Texas, conducting interviews in front of large audiences with the likes of Henry Kissinger, James A. Baker III, David McCullough, Jon Meacham, and Ken Burns, to name a few. These onstage interviews combined with Talmage’s passion for presidential history are the inspiration behind his newest book Cross-Examining History: A Lawyer Gets Answers From the Experts About Our Presidents (Bright Sky Press 2016, Foreword by Ken Burns). Talmage’s new book contains thirty-one edited transcripts of his onstage interviews from all over the country with some of America’s leading presidential historians and presidential insiders, including Douglas Brinkley (who he interviewed on both Theodore Roosevelt and Richard Nixon).
On the back of Talmage’s duist jacket will be the following endorsement:
“Talmage Boston is a brilliant interviewer, raconteur, historian, and Dallas impresario. His mind crackles with curiosity and knowledge. Nobody gets to the heart of the main strands of American history quite like Boston. He is sui generis.”
