9 Pieces of Wisdom

Friday’s inauguration in the nation’s capital triggered childhood memories for some of us of the black-and-white televised image of Chief Justice Earl Warren administering the oath of office to John F. Kennedy on a frosty day in January 1961. Then the new president electrified the country with an inspiring address to do something good for the country. Along with that vivid flashback, however, comes the painful awareness of how many inaugurations I’ve since watched on television, and how times have changed.

Despite that bitter pill of unvarnished truth, January again offers a new beginning for those seeking to seize the new year to do what it takes to move one’s internal needle forward, regardless of who occupies the Oval Office, or how many of those occupants one might have lived through.

The following are my nine favorite pearls of wisdom that not only resonated while their books were on my lap, but have helped tweak my game plan for the new year: (READ MORE)
